چکیده
Stop codon mutation on Pre-Core, G1896A, was found in 23 of 98 patients (23.47%); among them, 20 of 23 (86.96%) are genotype B. Mutations related to antiviral drug resistance with frequency more than 1% in the reverse transcriptase (RT) domain of Polymerase gene were identified. 83.67% sequences have more than one mutation. 50% sequences have mutation at rtI169V/M, and all belong to sub-genotype B. Mutations at rtM204I/V and rtM250I were present in 23.47% and 11.22% of isolates (23 and 11 of 98, respectively), and was higher in sub-genotype C (Pvalues1⁄4 0.06 and<0.01, respectively). Our study provides high precision whole genome sequences of the Vietnamese HBV population and shows potential information related to treatment prediction for HBV infection as well as viral evolution. A further study with larger sample size and intensive analysis combined with clinical information promises more useful data for treatment and invention.

Development of a Low Bias Method for Characterizing Viral Populations Using Next Generation Sequencing Technology
BACKGROUND With an estimated 38 million people worldwide currently infected with human immunodeficiency virus (HIV), and an additional 4.1 million people becoming infected each year, it is important to understand how this virus mutates and develops resistance in order to design successful therapies. METHODOLOGY/PRINCIPAL FINDINGS We report a novel experimental method for amplifying full-lengt...
متن کاملGenotype- and Subtype-Independent Full-Genome Sequencing Assay for Hepatitis C Virus.
Hepatitis C virus (HCV) exhibits a high genetic diversity and is classified into 6 genotypes, which are further divided into 66 subtypes. Current sequencing strategies require prior knowledge of the HCV genotype and subtype for efficient amplification, making it difficult to sequence samples with a rare or unknown genotype and/or subtype. Here, we describe a subtype-independent full-genome sequ...
متن کاملDeep sequencing of near full-length HIV-1 genomes from plasma identifies circulating subtype C and infrequent occurrence of AC recombinant form in Southern India
India has the third largest number of HIV-1-infected individuals accounting for approximately 2.1 million people, with a predominance of circulating subtype C strains and a low prevalence of subtype A and A1C and BC recombinant forms, identified over the past two decades. Recovery of near full-length HIV-1 genomes from a plasma source coupled with advances in next generation sequencing (NGS) te...
متن کاملA Simple and Rapid Method for the Detection of HIV-1/HCV in Co-Infected Patients
Background: Due to some limitations of serological methods in diagnosis of patients infected with HIV-1 (human immunodeficiency virus) and HCV (hepatitis C virus), it is profoundly important to use molecular methods for the detecting of these infectious agents. However, the most significant problems are the exorbitant cost of these methods and the need of a thermocycler which is an expensive...
متن کاملFull-length haplotype reconstruction to infer the structure of heterogeneous virus populations
Next-generation sequencing (NGS) technologies enable new insights into the diversity of virus populations within their hosts. Diversity estimation is currently restricted to single-nucleotide variants or to local fragments of no more than a few hundred nucleotides defined by the length of sequence reads. To study complex heterogeneous virus populations comprehensively, novel methods are require...
